Giving to St Mary’s

Regular Giving, also known as Stewardship, is an essential pillar of church income. In our giving, we acknowledge that ‘all things come from God’ who gives generously to us. Giving money to the Church is not just about keeping the Sunday service going or looking after a building, it is an essential part of our Christian calling as disciples of Christ and members of his Church.

St Mary’s needs to raise enough funds each year to pay the Diocese of London the costs of having a Vicar, and also to cover all of our operating costs: staff wages, electric and fuel bills, upkeep of our Grade 2 listed building and grounds, printing, administration , musicians for services and more. In 2024, this means raising more than £6,500 each week. Here a few suggestions for how you can support St Mary’s.

How to Support St Mary’s

There are two ways to give to St Mary’s on a regular basis; through the Parish Giving Scheme or by online banking. Your commitment to give to St Mary’s on a regular basis enables us to plan our yearly budget more effectively. Whichever way you choose to give, if you are a UK tax payer please complete and return the Gift Aid Form so that we may recover the tax. These forms are also available from the back of the church.

Online Giving
We have set up a CAF Donate page, where you are able to donate to support us.  Please click the link below. This is particularly effective for one off gifts, or donations with a particular focus, such as contributions to the Charitable Pot.

Parish Giving Scheme www.parishgiving.org.uk

We ask that if you want to give regularly, you use the Parish Giving Scheme. This is a highly efficient service providing a simple and secure way for you to give, and a which not only calculates Gift Aid (for UK taxpayers) but also pays it directly to the church each month. If you would like to give by Standing Order Mandate please complete the mandate (download by clicking the link below) and return the form to: The Planned Giving Secretary, c/o The Parish Office, St Mary’s Church, The Boltons, London SW10 9TB.

The Church’s Parish Giving Scheme page is found here.

Online Banking
If you would like to use online/internet banking, please use the information about St Mary’s bank account to set up regular or one off payments:

PCC of St Mary with St Peter and St Jude or PCC St Mary's
Barclays account number: 80692190
Sort code: 20-80-14

Please remember to add your name followed by ‘/PG’ so that we can identify planned giving payments. For example ‘Joe Bloggs/PG’. Please let us know when you have set up the payment.

Gift Aid

We encourage all who give to St Mary’s who are UK taxpayers to maximise their donations by signing up to the Gift Aid Scheme, which adds another 25% to your gift. Sign the Gift Aid form (downloadable from this page) and return it to our Gift Aid Officer. Our Gift Aid Secretary can reclaim tax for St Mary’s benefit on the total offering made in the year,  as long as the donor has paid UK income or capital gains tax in that year sufficient to cover that claim (and has made a Gift Aid declaration).

Cheques can also be sent via the Administrator or the Clergy. Our gift aid email is: giftaid1@stmarytheboltons.org.uk

Leave a Legacy in your Will

Once you have made provision for you loved ones, please consider leaving a gift to St Mary’s in your Will.

The PCC has a longstanding policy to use legacies to help fund significant projects that will make a difference to the life and mission of the Parish, and does not use them to cover day to day running costs or our contributions to the Common Fund of the Diocese.

Every gift big or small, will make an impact on mission and ministry and maintain our spiritual heritage.
