St. Mary the Boltons

photo of the church

We are a Eucharist based church (using Common Worship Order One) in the best liberal Anglican tradition.

The main service on Sundays is a Sung Parish Eucharist at 10.30am.

We have a lively Sunday School which takes place during term time.

There is also an 8am said Eucharist with traditional language each Sunday and a mid week said Eucharist on Wednesday evenings at 7pm.

St. Mary’s is situated in The Boltons, London SW10, a beautiful double crescent with gardens, on the west side of Central London. The nearest tube stations are Earl's Court and Gloucester Road. Here is a location map: the church is indicated by a circle just above the SW10 postcode and also a birds-eye view.

Pete on acoustic guitar and Martyn on hang drum will perform their new work: a suite of pieces inspired by the music of Bach, together with music from their cd Elements. Their recent appearance at Marlborough Jazz Festival was a huge success with audience and organisers alike.

The event is free but numbers are limited. Here is more information about the concert.

the big lunch

The Boltons Big Lunch: Sunday 19th July 2009 at 1pm

“Le déjeuner sur l'herbe”

This lunch is part of a national simultaneous “home grown lunch”. We will share a simple meal with our neighbours as a simple but profound act of community. We are growing our own salad and herbs for the lunch!

The menu: Salmon with gravadlax, smoked mackerel, vegetarian falafel, bread, potatoes, tomatoes, various green salad with herbs; followed by a choice of two desserts.

More information on our own Big Lunch web page.

The church has a reputation for being open and welcoming to newcomers and visitors alike. We welcome visitors during the week and the church is generally open each weekday morning and early afternoon. You can also enjoy the peace of our attractive church garden.

We are now uploading recent issues of the parish magazine The Clarion to this website. All issues since April 2007 are indexed in the Clarion page, along with the 2007 and 2006 Annual Reports.

The priest-in-charge is The Revd. Ginny Thomas, and the associate vicar The Revd. Ruth Lampard, both of whom may be contacted through the parish office on (020) 7835 1440.

We communicate our faith with every gift we have been given.
Firmly founded in the Anglican tradition, we use all the talents presented by members of our congregation.

If you wish to weep
we give you space
until you wish to share the tears

If you are burdened
tell us of your troubles

If you have sins to confess
find here forgiveness

If you need silence
peace is offered

If you seek truth
there are ways

If love
we are united in the Lover

If you want to sing
we will accompany you

If you are laughing
we would like to hear the joke

If you are celebrating
please tell us your good news
